Christmas wreath tutorial

What you need:
Wire hanger
Smaller gauge wire for hanging
Wine corks
Small red Christmas ornaments or medium-large red beads
Drill and small drill bit or old fashioned hand held screw driver with interchangeable drill bit tip
Wire cutter
Needle nose pliers
Red ribbon or red bow

Step 1.
Drill holes into all your corks( I used 26 for my wreath)
Step 2.
Cut the hanging hook off coat hanger and bend the wire to make round wreath shape. At one end use your pliers to bend a small hoop so you can hook the other end when you are finished.
Step 3.
Start putting corks and red beads/ornaments onto the wire. Arrange beads/ornaments and corks as you go. Make sure they are pushes close to each other.
Step 4.
When after the last cork is on use your pliers to attach the wire ends together. This part is the top of you wreath.
Step 5.
Secure a red bow to cover the empty wire part at the top. Use a 6 inch piece of smaller gauge wire to make a hoop for hanging and attach that behind the bow

The end!!

I have returned!!!

Hello, Hello. It has been too long since I've been here hasn't it? Many things have happened since my last post. Oh my, where do I start.
First things first. We moved to a new house in Germany. I have almost unpacked everything and we have started to decorate. We absolutely love it here!
The house(duplex actually), is only about 3 years old with heated tile floors downstairs and the most beautiful views of German countryside on the third floor.

There are mostly American's in our village and everyone is so friendly. On Thursdays, I even meet with some other women who live here and we talk, drink wine, and watch movies.

My art/music studio is perfect with lots of light, perfect for painting and especially nice for teaching.

The next thing is, I've started taking my health and fitness more seriously and started a 60 day regimen called Insanity. So far, I've lost about 10 pounds and am starting to find my abs! It is really intense but I love how I have more energy and I feel much stranger and confident. Before and after pictures coming soon!

The other thing that has changed is that I've stopped my "No-Poo" habits. After working out and sweating ridiculous amounts of sweat, I decided to start using shampoo again. I know, I know....I've done the research and I know shampoo really isn't good for my hair but for now I'm sticking with shampoo. I've actually found some all natural shampoo bars that I really want to try. Hoping they will ship to my APO box!

Other than that, not much else happnening around here. I'm getting busier with teaching art and music as the school year begins. I really want to make writing on this blog one of my priorities, but bare with me as I ease into this Blogging world.

Lita

New House

We are finally moved in to the new house but still do not have the Internet at home. Unpacking and decorating is taking up all my time right now. But at least we are still enjoying ourselves...
I love that we have a balcony off of our bedroom, and the doggies love it too!

Moving

Hello! It has been a while :( I must apologize for the lack of entries...
I have been moving to a new house in Germany and we will be without Internet for a undetermined amount of time. I will try to keep up with some posts here and there when I can make it to the library to use their free wifi.
Here is a picture of me loading the car on our last trip to the the new house. It took a series of 3 days to
get all our belongings to the new house. Now we are working on unpacking and decorating the new place. I love our new house! Pictures to come soon I hope.

What I Wear Wednesday

What I Wear Wednesday:
shirt: Target brand but found at thrift store
black jeans: Pimkie
heart necklace: handmade
bracelets: handmade
rose ring: Piggle and Pop

I also wanted to share with you a bag that I recently made from an old jacket. It was  a black canvas jacket from Old Navy that shrunk in the laundry and I decided to re-purpose it as a messenger bag! I worked out perfectly.

I still believe in love.

It is funny how someone else can write a song that you can completely relate to. Its as if I wrote the words to this song.

No More 'Poo: Day 10

Okay, so day 10 was on Sunday and the previous night I was out with friends at a hooka bar. I came home with my hair smelling of nasty cigarette smoke Saturday night. Sunday morning I failed and used shampoo because I just couldn't stand the smell! So heres a pic of me thumbs down, failing at the no more 'poo.

The net day I started the no more poo again...so I guess we're back go square one!

No more 'poo: Day 5

Just thought I'd post my pictures on the no more 'poo(shampoo) progress:
So  today and yesterday my hair has been a bit oily. I can't stand the smell of the vinegar so I'll take the tiiiiiiiniest bit of shampoo and put it on the ends of my hair. Also, making sure the baking soda is rinsed out has been sort of difficult.

Here are some links with information on No More 'Poo:

Song of the day

Just discovered this new all girl band called Warpaint. They
are definitely worth checking out.

Day 1: No more 'Poo

Today I decided I was tired of washing my hair everyday. My sister told me she was trying this "no more 'poo" thing and so I have decided to give it a try. I read a bit about it on a few websites but found this one to be most helpful. I will try to post pictures at least once or twice a week so you can see the process.

Step 1:
Get rid of all my shampoo and conditioners
Step 2:
Mixed baking soda with a bit of water until it was a paste. Rubbed the pasted into the roots of my hair. Left in for a few minutes then rinsed out with water.
Step 3:
Poured some Apple cider vinegar mixed with water(1 to 4 vinegar to water ratio) over the ends of my hair(this acts like a conditioner). They say to put it on the ends only if you don't want your hair to be too oily.
Step 4:
I didn't put any product in my hair, just dried it as number.

Leave a comment if you've tried this and have any tips! You can also comment if you have questions.
Again I got all my info from here: No More 'Poo

Song of the Day!

Lately, when I listen to music I use 8tracks.com because it is commercial free! Its also nice to be able to find a music mix by clicking on tags such as Jazz, Indie, Folk etc. Another bonus is coming across new music! While listening to a mix I came across Birdy and am currently into her song called "Skinny Love." Hope you enjoy!
